Megan Mange did an internship with the Boeing Corporation in St. Louis in the summer of 2015. Megan was an Engineering, Operations, and Technology (EO&T) Estimating & Pricing/Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA) Intern.
How did you get your internship?
I received my internship by both applying online as well as talking with Boeing at the Truman career fair. I highly recommend attending the career fair every year and starting to network with the different companies.
What sorts of things did you do during your internship?
During my internship, I developed labor and cost estimates for test support of various Boeing Defense Systems (BDS) products including F-15, F/A- 18, Weapons, and Phantom Works. I also increased the use of data driven estimating methodology by developing a cost estimating relationship (CER) for test program integrator (TPI) support.
How did you benefit from the internship?
By performing well as an intern, I was offered a full time position before I even started my senior year at Truman. Not only did I receive a job offer, but I also learned some great skills throughout the summer. For example, I was able to work on my communication and presentation skills by attending roundtable discussions with executives and presenting to the customer. I was also able to increase my network at Boeing.
