How did you get your internship?
I was hired after speaking to a recruited from Veteran Home Loans at the Truman State Career Expo.
What sorts of things did you do during your internship?
Veterans United Home Loans is a mortgage lender specializing in VA Loans, which are typically for US Veterans but sometimes families of US Veterans if there is a qualifying circumstance. I sifted through thousands of contracts to find information about real estate agents. I organized the information in a spreadsheet and in the company’s database of real estate agents. Although I did not have the opportunity to apply my data analysis skills gained from any statistics classes, I did get to experience collecting data which developed my attention to detail, problem solving, and motivation skills.
How did you benefit from the internship?
The biggest benefit of this internship was the experience gained in working with a team professionally.
