General Math Internships
- The #HireTruman website maintained by the Truman Career Center has searchable listings of internships.
- American Mathematical Society list of internships
- The FLITE program is a partnership with the Boeing Company in which several first year Truman students are selected for internships. For the summer of 2022, applications are due February 4th. Note: the program is aimed at “business-related” majors, and mathematics is considered such a major.
- Hollister, here in Kirksville is often looking for interns with background in math / statistics.
Actuarial Internships
- Contact Dr. Smith and ask him to add your name to his e-mail list for actuarial information.
- BeAnActuary.com – lots of information on the field actuarial science including finding internships
- The Actuarial Career Fair at Central Missouri University has been a good source of internships for Truman students. It takes place in the fall.
Research Experiences

Teaching Related
- The Joseph Baldwin Academy is a three week residential program for middle school students. Truman students serve as professional staff and preceptors for the courses. Contact the instructor for any classes you might have an interest as preceptor.
- The SEE Program at Truman hires counselors / tutors.
- Upward Bound hires math instructors for summer courses.
